Hawks are incredibly fast animals as they can reach up to 300 km/h when they are hunting their prey. It spreads it winks, slowly takes off just to attack its hopeless prey like a torpedo falling down on earth. Just before its attack it is circling in the sky and focuses on smaller flying birds in order to get them efficiently. That sounds like as if the hawk would be a merciless killer without any failing, but in reality only one out of five attacks is successful.
The hawk was nearly extinguished in Central Europe in the 1970ies but its population is slowly recovering. It could be good to get fantastic images of hakws right away before it is nevertheless too late.
