Images of Couples Hugging

Everyone needs a hug from time to time. When we decide to let someone else into our personal space and hug us, we open up to allow that person to get physically closer than most others are allowed. We open our arms to embrace each other as a sign of friendship, affection, and caring. We hug a friend as a greeting, and also when we say “Goodbye” before parting ways. Sometimes hugging is a way to express sympathy or comfort to someone in need. Or a hug can be a precursor to that first kiss, filled with electrical anticipation of the other person's lips meeting yours.

Cuddling on the couch or spooning in bed, a couple revels being in each others’ arms, holding each other, providing a safe environment that is absolutely impenetrable by the outside world.
